Do You Want or Need a Web Site?

Are you trying to decide if your business should have website?  You may have questions and concerns about what to do, how to do it, or whether to do it at all.  Here are some frequently asked questions to help put your concerns to rest:
Why do I need a web site?
Gain national, even global, exposure
Increase your customers' awareness of your capabilities
Enhance your company's image
Keep your customers informed of new products and services or special events
Reduce advertising costs
Have the ability to take orders or reservations on-line
Get instant feedback
Be able to provide technical support via e-mail
Be accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
How do I draw an audience?
You don't want a one-time visitor to your site; you want repeat business. You want to get them there, pique their interest, and have them come back again.  But, you need to give them a reason to do so.  You will need to provide your visitors with useful, up-to-date information about your company, your services, your product, new offerings, etc.
What's the key to a successful site?
The key to a successful web site is: does it work?  A well designed web site can open a whole new marketing opportunity for your business. Users want to be able to navigate through your site quickly and easily, while you present to them the appropriate information and image.  A poorly designed, cumbersome site can be a cyber-disaster.  Your website will be designed in keeping with your business's style and reputation.

Web Site Specifications & Notifications

Your initial web site design will include 3 to 5 pages and up to 5 photos/images (unless otherwise discussed).  You will receive (1) e-mail address, i.e., “yourchoice@yourdomainname.com”.  E-mail forwarding is also available.  Your initial web site set-up will include the registration of your domain name with InterNIC (the government agency that controls all domain name registration), the server set-up for your domain name, and registration with the major search engines.  Based on the above, the cost for your website will be approximately $850.  Server space (also known as hosting fees) for one (1) year will be billed monthly at $30 each month.  All web sites are custom designed and, therefore, may incur a higher - or sometimes lower - cost depending on your actual needs.
Additional Web Site Costs
Extra pages will be charged at $50 to $150 per page depending on their complexity.
Form pages will be charged at $100 for a form of approximately 20 lines or the average size of a browser window.
Creating a Site Search feature will be charged at $125.  This feature will allow users to search your site for any keyword or phrase.
Updating or making changes to the pages in your site (after initial design has been completed and approved…) will be charged at $25 per hour.  Special rates can be arranged for sites that will require weekly or monthly changes due to site type or content.
E-mail autoresponders are available and will be charged at $25 per hour.  An e-mail autoresponder is used to send an automatic e-mail reply from your e-mail address.
Shopping Cart sites require a much higher cost due to their complexity and server set-up.  Sites will be designed to meet your specific needs and will be charged at $2,500.
Domain Name Registration & Ownership
Your domain name will be registered with InterNIC and you will specify the name, address and phone number to be listed as owner.  I will be listed as Administrative Contact.
Search Engine Registration
Search engine registration and promotion will be performed regularly, as needed.
Copyright Information
We will place the “©” symbol on your site notifying the public that the content of your site is “copyrighted.”  However, for your legal protection, you may wish to have your site registered with the United States Copyrights Office.  Information and registration forms are available online at http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/.  There is a registration fee (around $30) to register your site, however, you may wish to hire an attorney to do it for you.
